Beaufort Residents Invited to Support Wreaths Across America and Honor Local Veterans

Calling All Beaufort Residents! Help Needed for Wreaths Across America!

It’s that time of year again in Beaufort, and there’s a buzz of excitement in the air as the holiday season approaches. But amid the festive cheer, there’s a serious mission at hand that needs the community’s support. Wreaths Across America Day is just around the corner, taking place on Saturday, December 14, and coordinator David Edwards is reaching out for help!

A Heartfelt Request

Now, Edwards isn’t one to beg—he’s not one for the numbers—but he knows how critical it is to get the word out. So what’s the situation? As of now, Wreaths Across America Beaufort is only 60 percent of the way toward their goal of placing a lovely remembrance wreath on every headstone in Beaufort National Cemetery. You heard that right! They are aiming to cover approximately 26,000 headstones, a tall order, but one that they’ve successfully accomplished for the past four years.

Wreath Costs and How You Can Help

Each remembrance wreath costs just $17, and with that small price, you can make a big impact. Edwards is well aware that many families are facing financial challenges, especially after the recent hurricanes that shook our communities, and he acknowledges the generous donations made to other causes. However, he emphasizes the importance of supporting this cause too, stating, “I know times are tough…but if you can help out, please do.”

Here’s the good news! There is still time to contribute. Edwards insists that folks can place orders for wreaths right up until the truck doors close. You can easily sponsor a wreath by heading over to the Wreaths Across America Beaufort page, or scan the QR code found on their Facebook page. Just make sure to use the special code at the end of the web address, ensuring your wreaths end up right where they need to be—on our heroes’ graves in Beaufort!

Join the Event!

Wreaths Across America is not just about purchasing wreaths; it’s a community event, open to everyone! Bring your family and friends to honor those who have served our nation. Volunteers are always welcome, and participating in this beautiful ceremony is a fulfilling way to kick off the holiday season.

If you’re curious about more information on how you can help or participate, don’t hesitate to check out the official website. It’s a simple act that goes a long way in showing our respect and gratitude to the veterans who’ve fought for our freedom.

Spread the Word!

So let’s rally together, Beaufort! Edwards urges everyone to spread the word, attend the event, or contribute where you can. After all, the holiday spirit isn’t just about gifts and decorations; it’s also about honoring the sacrifices made for our country. We can make this year a memorable one for those who have given so much.

As the holiday season kicks off in Beaufort, let’s unite and stand tall in gratitude for our heroes. Remember, every little bit counts in making sure we have enough wreaths to honor each fallen hero this December 14.

For direct contributions and to sponsor a wreath for Beaufort National Cemetery, don’t forget to visit wreathsacrossamerica.org/GA0175P. Together, we can show our veterans that they are not forgotten!
