Oh, Savannah! Get ready to turn up the heat this winter as the Savannah Music Festival (SMF) gears up to bring you something truly extraordinary! On Saturday, January 25, starting at 5:30 p.m., the Plant Riverside District at 400 West River St. is about to transform into a dazzling winter wonderland for the much-anticipated Winter Bash: An Evening to Benefit Savannah Music Festival.
Now, let’s spill the tea! This cozy and fabulous event promises a night filled with exceptional talent and delicious food. Get ready for a stunning private concert by the sensational jazz pianist Matthew Whitaker, who is making waves in the music scene! You might have heard him called “the next Stevie Wonder,” and trust us, he lives up to the hype. Born blind, Matthew picked up the keyboard at just 3 years old and hasn’t looked back since. He rocked the stage at places like Carnegie Hall and even opened for Stevie Wonder himself!
But Winter Bash is more than just a concert; it’s a community celebration! The proceeds from this magical night will give a hearty boost to SMF’s fantastic free education programs designed for local youth. We’re talking about spreading the joy of music to over 10,000 local students each year. Isn’t that something to dance about?
Among the highlight of the night will be a sumptuous supper held in the Salzburg Ballroom. And let’s not forget about the lively reception before dinner! Expect an open bar serving up winter-inspired drinks and tasty appetizers to tickle your taste buds. You’ll also be entertained by students from the SMF Jazz Academy, a free after-school program for 5th to 12th graders in the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System. It’s all about showcasing our local talent!
The ticket to all this fun? Just $400 per person! This fee includes valet parking, entry to the pre-concert reception, a mouth-watering dinner, a bid paddle, and exclusive access to Matthew Whitaker’s performance. It’s truly a night that sounds too good to miss!
Want to snag your spot? Tickets are available for purchase online at savannahmusicfestival.org. And if you’re feeling generous and would like to make an even bigger impact, there are sponsorship opportunities available! Feel free to reach out to Kat Clark, the SMF Development Manager, at 912.234.3378 ext. 106 or drop a note to kat.clark@smf.org.
So, mark your calendars, Savannah! Winter Bash promises to be a night filled with brilliant music, great food, and the best kind of community spirit. Let’s support our young musicians and enjoy a fabulous evening together. Who knows? You might even discover the next big star in the making right here in our lovely city!
