Savannah, GA– A plethora of activities and educational experiences await visitors of all age groups at the Savannah Wildlife Refuge as it gears up for the free Discovery Day, taking place this Saturday.
Guests at the Discovery Day can immerse themselves into a wide range of activities like archery, fishing, and also come face-to-face with the adorable mascot of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Puddles the Blue Goose. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, responsible for refuge maintenance, will be present at the event to give visitors first-hand information about their practices and challenges.
Expressing her excitement, the Savannah Wildlife Refuge Visitor Services Manager Monica Harris stated, “I am entirely thrilled about Discovery Day. This is our first Spring Event since the refuge reopened in June. Our lands have made a full recovery from the restoration we had in the last three years. The day promises loads of fun and learning for all attendees.”
There will be two special presentations focused on the recent updates on the refuge. These presentations aim to educate visitors about the efforts taken for wildlife preservation, the implications of the actions, and the expected future outcomes.
The Discovery Day event is set to begin at 10 a.m., carrying on until 3 p.m. The venue is located at 694 Beech Hill Lane in Hardeeville, S.C. Persons interested in learning more about the event or have further queries can reach out to the refuge at 843-784-2468.
Adding an element of delight to the event, there will also be free food available for the attendees. So along with a day filled with adventure, learning, and exploration of wildlife, visitors can also look forward to a satisfying culinary experience.
