Beaufort Launches “Tree of Hope” Holiday Campaign to Honor Loved Ones and Support Community Care

Beaufort Kicks Off Heartfelt Holiday Campaign with “Tree of Hope”

BEAUFORT, S.C. – As the holiday season approaches, the Beaufort Memorial Foundation has launched a delightful initiative designed to warm hearts and spread some cheer. Say hello to the “Tree of Hope” campaign! This new tradition invites community members to honor their loved ones by purchasing beautiful holiday ornaments to be displayed on a festive tree in one of three meaningful locations: the main lobby of Beaufort Memorial Hospital, the Beaufort Memorial Keyserling Cancer Center, or the Beaufort Memorial New River Cancer Center in Okatie.

Honoring Memories and Celebrating Lives

Kimberly Yawn, Associate Vice President of the Beaufort Memorial Foundation, shared some heartfelt sentiments about this initiative. “As a health care system, we see the extreme highs and lows in a person’s life. From the birth of a child to the death of a loved one, our team shares many of these experiences with our patients,” she stated. “We are excited to give our community an opportunity to honor a loved one or celebrate their memory while providing critical support to Beaufort Memorial.”

The ornaments are available for purchase until December 13 and can easily be found at BeaufortMemorial.org/TreeofHope. It’s a wonderful way to not only show your love for those who are no longer with us but to also contribute to the hospital’s efforts to enhance patient care and support programs in the Lowcountry.

Create a Lasting Impact

This enchanting “Tree of Hope” is more than just a tree; it’s a symbol of community unity during a time when togetherness is paramount. Whether you want to showcase a cherished memory, celebrate a life well-lived, or express gratitude for the medical staff during tough times, this initiative offers a warm and inviting space for all. Celebrate the season and be part of something that makes a real difference!

Disaster Recovery Center Now Open in Hampton County

In a completely different vein, COLUMBIA, S.C. is stepping up to assist individuals affected by Hurricane Helene. A Disaster Recovery Center has just opened its doors in Hampton County to provide much-needed help. This center, located at the Bull Durham Center on 380 Railroad Ave., Estill, will operate from Nov. 26 to Dec. 9, with specific dates noted for availability, offering in-person support for those affected by the devastating storm.

Residents can drop in any time between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. to chat with representatives from FEMA, the state of South Carolina, and the U.S. Small Business Administration. No need to make an appointment, just show up with your questions and concerns!

Eligibility and Applications Made Easy

Those living in counties impacted, including but not limited to Beaufort, Abbeville, Allendale, and York, are eligible to apply for federal assistance. The quickest route to get that assistance is by visiting DisasterAssistance.gov or by calling the toll-free number at 800-621-3362. Remember, help is available every day and in many languages!

Shout Out to Generosity: Sun City 100+ Women Who Care

Back to the heartwarming news, the Sun City 100+ Women Who Care Group has done it again! They recently presented an incredible $18,800 check to Family Promise, an organization dedicated to assisting homeless families in getting back on their feet. What a magnificent way for women in the community to band together for a common cause, showing just how powerful collective action can be!

Kathy Hogue, who nominated the charity, graciously accepted the check on behalf of Family Promise as members of the group cheered on. This selfless act is proof that together, the women of Sun City can create a significant impact in the lives of those less fortunate!

This holiday season, whether it’s honoring a loved one with a touch of beauty on the “Tree of Hope,” seeking assistance through the Disaster Recovery Center, or championing the cause for homeless families, there’s no shortage of ways to give back and spread joy!
