The search for the missing Beaufort County man, 81-year-old Martin Raffone, came to a regrettable conclusion when his body was discovered in Lynchburg, South Carolina, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office.
Raffone was last seen on February 20 in the Hardeeville area, Beaufort County. After he went missing, a massive search operation was launched by the local police and community members. His disappearance caused widespread alarm, particularly because of his advanced age and the lengthy period of his absence.
Authorities had been seeking information from the public to help locate him since his disappearance. His case had also been highlighted on various community platforms, with flyers distributed and digital campaigns initiated to spread the word and gather leads that may facilitate his discovery.
Raffone’s body was discovered on a remote dirt road in Lynchburg, South Carolina. A concerned resident of the area found his vehicle and immediately informed the authorities. Upon arrival, the law enforcement officers identified the vehicle and discovered the body near the car.
