Since launching in October 2023, this food truck has taken the culinary scene by storm, and the Bowdish couple is excited to take their next big step.
Tin and Tallow is opening its doors at 2 Spanish Wells Road, in a space that was formerly home to Jarvis Creek General Store. This new establishment features a cozy, thoughtfully remodeled interior designed to keep diners comfy, rain or shine. For those who enjoy the great outdoors, there’s plenty of appealing outdoor seating as well as televisions to catch the game while enjoying a delicious meal. It’s a perfect spot for families and friends alike to gather and indulge in mouthwatering bites.
The journey to this new location started with humble beginnings back in Michigan. The owners, Tyler and Josi Bowdish, launched their food truck with a dream of eventually opening a full restaurant. Initially, the food truck parked behind Barnacle Bill’s didn’t bring the best sales, but thanks to some positive word-of-mouth, they managed to keep going. Their big break came when they collaborated with Locals Only, giving them a significant boost in visibility.
After gaining solid traction, the food truck began to rotate between four different locations. One key partnership with Lot 9 Brewing Company helped to further entrench their brand into the local food scene. The community clearly loved what they were serving, and the buzz just kept growing!
Stepping into the new restaurant, customers will see a transformed space that reflects the Bowdish’s vision. The team put lots of effort into renovations by removing old coolers and shelves, improving the overall ambiance to create a relaxing dining environment. From cozy seating to delightful decor, it’s all about comfort and community at Tin and Tallow’s new home.
One of the exciting elements of the new location is the food! Even though the breakfast menu will remain small for now, there might be future additions like avocado toast because who doesn’t love a good brunch treat? Meanwhile, the beloved weekly burger specials will continue to delight patrons, and there are plans to introduce feature sandwiches in the coming spring.
And it doesn’t stop there! Families will be thrilled to hear a kids menu will be added soon, along with possible treats like onion rings to accompany those fabulous burgers. The menu is shaping up to be a family-friendly paradise for those who appreciate high-quality comfort food.
Initially, the restaurant will be open six days a week, closed on Mondays, with hopes to operate all week as the spring rolls around. Breakfast hours will kick off bright and early from 7:30 AM to 10:30 AM, with lunch and dinner available from 11:30 AM to 8 PM. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, there’s plenty of time to savor what Tin and Tallow has to offer.
