We really want to make sure we tap into communities that, in the past, were overlooked.”

As we heard from a local Savannah resident named Julian, the current trail has already provided a more convenient route to Lake Mayer. “They recently opened the trail, and before that, you had to walk into the street to get over to Lake Mayer, so it’s pretty convenient,” he mentioned with a smile. Stories like Julian’s highlight how impactful this project can be for everyday lives.
