BEAUFORT COUNTY, S.C. – Tragedy struck a graduation party group as shots were fired, injuring four people, including a 17-year-old girl. Local law enforcement authorities are actively investigating the shocking incident that occurred on Horace Dawson Lane in the Dale area.
The county’s Sheriff Office received multiple calls around 11 p.m., reporting gunfire in the area. Deputies rushed to the area and found a gunshot victim, a 38-year-old woman. Three other victims including a 20-year-old woman, a 21-year-old man, and the teen girl, rushed to receive medical attention before the law enforcement arrived at the site.
While the injuries are not life-threatening, the shooting shook the community largely, damaging one house and several vehicles in the area. Authorities have confirmed that a high school graduation party was in full swing when unidentified assailants arrived and caused the mayhem. The suspects fled the scene before the police could arrive.
As the investigation continues, the Sheriff’s Office has ensured an increased law enforcement presence in the neighborhood. Residents are advised to remain cautious and cooperative while the probe intensifies.
The Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone with any information that might be helpful towards identifying the culprits to step forward. Informants can contact the Office directly or can choose to remain anonymous while reporting their insights to Crime Stoppers of the Lowcountry.
