Sponsor Our ArticlesHilton Head Schools have received significant support from Tanger Outlets through their TangerKids program. Four educational institutions were awarded grants to enhance student engagement and growth. Bluffton Elementary will explore diverse cultures, while Bluffton Middle School’s Art Club will receive funding for creative projects. Hardeeville Elementary’s PBIS program will promote positive behavior, and Hampton Elementary will acquire new recess equipment. Tanger Outlets is committed to investing in local education, having contributed over $3.7 million to school initiatives over the years.
Exciting news is buzzing around Hilton Head! The much-loved Tanger Outlets has stepped up once again to support our local schools through the TangerKids program. This year, they’ve awarded four grants to educational institutions across various counties, all aimed at fostering student growth and community engagement.
How awesome is it that Bluffton Elementary is one of the awarded schools? Thanks to their grant, students will get the chance to dive into an enriching initiative that explores different home countries and cultures. This project promises to broaden horizons and enhance cultural awareness among the kiddos.
But that’s not all! The creative spirits over at Bluffton Middle School are also set to benefit, with funds supporting their Art Club’s crocheting project. Imagine those young artists getting their hands busy and crafting beautiful pieces while honing their artistic skills! Every stitch they make is a step towards encouraging creativity.
Hardeeville Elementary is receiving recognition too, with grant money designated to boost their Positive Behavioral Intervention System (PBIS). This program is all about promoting good behavior and providing kids with a supportive environment where they can learn how to succeed both academically and socially.
And let’s not forget about Hampton Elementary, which will get a boost with new recess equipment. Who wouldn’t want to see children laughing and playing on a brand-new playground? Health and wellness are so important, and this addition will surely encourage students to stay active during their breaks!
The heart behind this program truly shines through. The marketing director at Tanger Hilton Head expressed pride in supporting local families and investing in the success of students. Each year they engage with local educators to pinpoint the most impactful projects that deserve financial support, ensuring that the grants go where they are needed most.
Over the years, Tanger’s commitment to education has shown remarkable results. They have witnessed firsthand how these grants cultivate inclusive and productive learning environments. Since the program began almost 30 years ago, Tanger has contributed over $3.7 million to various school initiatives, with a staggering over 60% of the grant recipients being Title 1 schools—a fantastic way to uplift schools that serve lower-income communities.
The grant application window opened on August 12 and wrapped up on October 18, allowing public and private schools from pre-K to twelfth grade to submit their proposals. With numerous applicants from Beaufort County and beyond, it was a competitive process, but the right schools caught the attention of the selection committee.
Mark your calendars! Tanger celebrated TangerKids Day on January 31, a joyous occasion featuring check presentations at both Hampton Elementary and Bluffton Middle School. It’s always heartwarming to see the local community coming together to honor and support the future leaders of our world.
For those interested in diving deeper into the TangerKids Grants initiative, more information can be found on their dedicated website. This extensive program opening up doors for so many students exemplifies the spirit of giving back to the community in which we live, work, and play!
Let’s cheer on our local schools and the wonderful projects they’ll bring to life with the help of Tanger Outlets! With initiatives like these, our young learners are sure to thrive.
