Good morning, Savannah! As we step outside today, we can expect a touch of patchy fog lingering in the air, especially inland. But don’t let that fool you – temperatures are already warming up with the thermometer climbing into the 50s and even hitting the 60s closer to our beautiful coastline. As the sun rises higher, we’ll be basking mostly in sunshine, perfect weather for a fun day out!
By lunchtime, those sunny rays will have warmed us up to the upper 70s, with afternoon highs reaching into the low to mid 80s. Isn’t that delightful? So if you’re heading out, don’t forget to stay hydrated and wear your favorite shades! As we roll into the evening, expect a light breeze keeping things pleasant. With the warm weather continuing throughout the weekend, this is a friendly reminder to soak it all in!
For those planning to hit the coast, you’re in for a treat too! Highs at the beach will also hover around the upper 70s, and if you’re a fan of surf, the wave heights are looking to be between 2-4 feet. The winds today will be fairly calm, tapering off to a gentle 5-10 knot breeze, switching to a southwesterly flow come Saturday. Sounds like a perfect day for building sandcastles or just relaxing with your toes in the sand!
Exciting news for seafood lovers! The Ogeechee Seafood Festival kicks off tonight and continues into tomorrow, offering a great atmosphere to enjoy delicious food and community fun. If you’re planning to head out in the morning on Saturday or Sunday, remember that morning lows will dip near 60 degrees. So, you might want to grab a light jacket to stay cozy while you enjoy those early festivities! Saturday will heat up nicely, peaking in the mid to upper 80s, so come ready for a warm but fantastic day.
If you’re catching Savannah State’s homecoming game at 3 PM on Saturday, prepare for a bit of a warm buzz! The game should be a joyous occasion with plenty of energy in the air amidst sunny skies.
On Sunday, we might get a little break from the heat as a weak front rolls in. This will help keep our afternoon highs closer to the comfortable 80-degree mark. There’s a slim chance for a few showers, but it seems most of us will remain dry, making it still a lovely day to venture out!
Monday is shaping up to be mild as well, starting with inland temperatures in the 50s and warming to the mid 70s under partly cloudy skies. We can’t completely rule out the chance of a shower, but we have our fingers crossed for clear skies. Tuesday will continue the trend of warm weather with highs again reaching into the upper 70s and a slight chance of onshore showers.
As for the tropics, there’s nothing brewing that we need to keep an eye on this week. Although some development in the Caribbean could pop up at the beginning of November, there’s no cause for concern locally at this time. Let’s all breathe a sigh of relief and enjoy the beautiful weather we have!
So, Savannah, make the most of this sunny spell, whether you’re heading to the beach, visiting the festival, or catching a football game. Here’s to a wonderful weekend ahead!
