SERG Group’s Grand Donation Brightens Futures for Special Needs Adults

In Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, an act of generosity by a local restaurant chain, SERG Group, has brought not just financial support but also hope and joy to special needs adults involved in the ‘Rays’ from Pockets Full of Sunshine charity.

A Significant Contribution to Pockets Full of Sunshine

The SERG Group has made a significant contribution of $25,000 to the charity, whose mission is to support special needs adults. The funds will be directed towards renovating a new 5000 square foot facility for the people who are playfully called ‘Rays’ within the organization. Pockets Full of Sunshine has earned a commendable reputation within the community for its dedication towards enhancing the lives of special needs adults.

“I know we can make a difference with them,” Rob Jordan, Founder of SERG Restaurant Group, said, expressing his excitement about aiding the charity and the joy he experiences when he attends their events. “And it’s just one of the great joys I have in my life.”

A Home for the ‘Rays’

‘Rays’, the resilient adults involved in the charity, will soon have a new place to call home – a facility that will enable Pockets Full of Sunshine to have an even greater impact on the community and the adults with disabilities.

“Having the opportunity to purchase this building and become a permanent fixture in Hilton Head, serving all of you in our county, has been really a gift to us.”, said Nicole DelMastro, Executive Director of Pockets Full of Sunshine.

Despite its current appearance, the rehabilitation of the facility will transform it into a space filled with positivity, fun, and a spark of ‘sunshine’.

Expanding Horizons: More Than Just Quantity

The renovation of the facility signifies a lot more than just expansion. Pockets Full of Sunshine aims to provide quality programming to meet the diverse needs of the special needs adults they serve.

“We’re going to focus really on life skills, on getting them community-facing,” DelMastro shared, anticipating the potential for growth and development these adults will experience through their involvement in such programs.

More Support in Sight

The generous contribution by SERG Group was part of their ‘Community Strong’ program and is the largest donation ever made through this initiative. The restaurant group also plans to hold a benefit in October, the proceeds of which will go to Pockets Full of Sunshine.

The charity is currently focused on raising money for their building rehab, which they estimate could cost upwards of $200,000. With continued community support, they hope that the facility will be ready for the ‘Rays’ to enjoy in the next year.

For those interested to learn more about Pockets Full of Sunshine’s mission or make a contribution, they can do so through the charity’s official website.

Such acts of kindness continue to demonstrate how local entities such as the SERG Group make a big difference in their community, making them not just businesses but pillars of support for those in need. This commitment to giving back serves as a heartwarming reminder of the power of community spirit and charity.
