SERG Group Sheds Light on “Rays” with Generous Donation

Raising Rays with a Ray of Hope

In a heartwarming act of philanthropy, Hilton Head Island’s own SERG Group has made a significant donation to Pockets Full of Sunshine, a local organization dedicated to enriching the lives of special needs adults. The SERG Group, a significant player in the local restaurant scene, has donated a whopping $25,000 to uplift the work of the charity.

“We’re truly excited about creating a bigger impact in Hilton Head and Bluffton,” said Nicole DelMastro, Executive Director of Pockets Full of Sunshine. “With the help of SERG Group’s generous contribution, we can touch more lives and create a more inclusive community.”

Instrumental Funding for Future Projects

This monetary aid will be channeled towards the renovation of a new 5000 square foot facility, which will serve as the new base for the “Rays”, the charming term used for the special needs adults supported by Pockets Full of Sunshine. Rob Jordan, Founder of the SERG Restaurant Group, expressed his delight with the association by adding, “Seeing the joy we bring at the events we support is a priceless experience.”

The new facility, although currently a work-in-progress, is set to be a beacon of hope and joy for the Rays, with the anticipation of it being filled with the metaphorical “sunshine” that the organization constantly strives for.

More than Just a Physical Space

Acquiring this building not only means increased capacity to serve more special needs adults, but it will also enable Pockets Full of Sunshine to offer higher quality programming. “Our emphasis will be on inculcating life skills and making them more visible in the community,” said DelMastro.

Pockets Full of Sunshine co-founder, Carol Bartholomew, added, “Our efforts bring purpose and meaning to their lives. It’s a family that fills them with the satisfaction of contributing and having a place in society.”

Continuing Contributions and Support

The SERG Group stands tall with its biggest donation ever made through their “Community Strong” program and has scheduled a benefit for October, the proceeds of which will also aid the charity. The total cost for the renovation of the new facility is estimated to be about $200,000, and with the ongoing fundraising efforts, it is hoped that the new ‘home’ will be ready to welcome the Rays within the next year.
