Savannah Rallies for Domestic Violence Awareness Month

In the charming city of Savannah, a heartwarming initiative is taking center stage as we step into October, the month dedicated to raising awareness about domestic violence. This year, the spotlight is shining on a collaboration between SAFE Shelter and the extensive family of restaurants under The Gaslight Group. Together, they are embarking on a mission to give back to the community, and they’re making it deliciously easy for all of us to get involved.

Fried Pickles for a Cause

Throughout this entire month, if you find yourself craving fried pickles, we have good news! For every fried pickle appetizer ordered at any participating restaurant, a generous $1 will go straight to SAFE Shelter. That’s right—enjoying a tasty treat can make a real difference in the lives of many individuals affected by domestic violence. Not only that, but guests can also contribute by rounding up their total at checkout.

The participating locations include the beloved 5 Spot in Sandfly, Midtown, and Richmond Hill, ensuring there are plenty of options for everyone. Plus, B. Matthew’s Eatery, a favorite hangout for many, is also joining in on the round-up initiative, making it even easier to lend a hand while enjoying good food with friends and family!

Giving Back to the Community

The collaborative effort through Gaslight Gives Back is not new for these restaurants. The Gaslight Group has long been known for its commitment to reinvesting in Savannah, placing a strong emphasis on supporting local nonprofits that work tirelessly for the betterment of the community. By partnering with SAFE Shelter, these restaurants are highlighting their dedication to enhancing the quality of life for all Savannahians and nearby residents.

Shannon Bates, the Executive Director of SAFE Shelter, expressed her heartfelt gratitude towards the Gaslight Group for their ongoing dedication to giving back. “We are incredibly grateful for the Gaslight Group’s ongoing commitment to giving back to the community,” she said. “Every contribution made this October will help us continue to provide safety, hope, and support to individuals affected by domestic violence.”

Join the Movement

It’s no secret that October’s focus on Domestic Violence Awareness is crucial. Through this initiative, Savannah residents are encouraged to take part in the efforts by simply dining at any of the participating Gaslight Group restaurants. Whether it’s sharing a plate of sizzling fried pickles or rounding up your bill, every little bit helps make a difference.

Bates invites everyone to consider this opportunity to support victims of domestic violence: “We invite everyone to join us in supporting domestic violence victims this October by dining at Gaslight Group restaurants and participating in the fried pickle and round-up initiatives.”
