The local theater scene in Savannah, Georgia, is buzzing with a variety of exciting shows and activities from June 19 to June 23. There’s something for everyone, from time-traveling drag queens and a nostalgic rendition of Grease to improvisational theater and a summer camp.
As part of the Pride Month observations, Savannah Cabaret presents a unique show titled ‘Time Traveling Drag Queens in the 1960s’. This cabaret stars Imma, Coco, and Christie, drag queens from the future who time-hop through different eras, infusing them with their own brand of fabulousness. Donning pillbox hats and go-go boots as part of this sixties jaunt, they become stewards on a mission to solve a murder mystery. The quirky plot, coupled with energetic renditions of iconic 1960s hits, ensures an entertaining night out. Performances will run from June 21 to June 23.
The much-loved classic Grease is coming to life on the stage of Historic Savannah Theatre. Epitomizing the rock-and-roll era of big cars and high-school puppy love, this musical has always been a crowd-pleaser. Now, enjoy this timeless journey once more with Danny, Sandy, and their friends as they sing their ways into our hearts. Show dates are yet to be announced.
Front Porch Improv delivers a weekend of fun with its unique improv comedy shows. FUN HOUSE LIVE is all set to take place on Friday, June 21. This is followed by the ALPHABET MAFIA: An LGBTQIA Comedy Show, celebrating the wit and creativity of the LGBTQIA+ community. Get ready to laugh out loud on June 21 and 22 with ‘The Duel!’ and ‘Big Awesome’.
Making the summer vacation more fun for your children, Savannah Stage Company is bringing back their B.I.G Summer Camp. This camp will help young artists, from 3rd to 10th grade, to dive into the world of creativity and imagination. The camp will be available from June 17th-28th.
