Hey there, Savannah! Have you marked your calendars for the *most exciting event of the year*? That’s right, it’s almost time for the annual probate ceremony at Savannah State University! The buzz is in the air, and I had the chance to catch up with the stunning Nadia Qualls, the 87th Miss Savannah State University and proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha
If you’ve been wondering what a probate is, Qualls is here to explain. “A probate is basically a presentation show where D9 Greeks and organizations come together to showcase what they’ve learned through their process,” she says. So, it’s not just about stepping on stage; it’s a heartfelt celebration of growth, unity, and pride. “Everyone, whether you’re Greek or not, is welcome. It’s an amazing opportunity to come together and support each other!”
Get ready for an unforgettable afternoon! Tomorrow, on November 17, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Tiger Arena, attendees can expect *high energy, excitement*, and maybe even a little noise as parents cheer for their favorite sorority and fraternity members. “Our Zetas, Alphas, Delta Sigma Pi, and Sigmas will be performing their presentation shows,” Qualls enthuses. Expect loud cheers, vibrant matching outfits, and an electric atmosphere!
When you think of a D9 celebration, it’s pretty much an all-out Greek gathering! Beyond the AKAs, there will be plenty of other organizations included in the mix, such as Iotas and, of course, the other D9 groups like the Sigmas and Alphas. Everyone brings their unique flair to the event, making it a must-see! “I’m personally looking forward to seeing the Alphas’ presentation. They have some new members coming out, and I can’t wait to see how they shine on stage!” Qualls adds with a gleam in her eye.
So, what makes this probate so extraordinary? Nadia has a few secrets up her sleeve! “The whole presentation is exciting,” she says. “It’s fascinating to witness how each organization expresses themselves and what they’ve learned. Plus, old alumni coming back is just heartwarming—it shows the tradition and pride alive within the Greek community.” It’s not just about the current members; it’s about a legacy!
When you ask Nadia about her favorite part of the probate, she knows right away: “The revealing!” Imagine the anticipation as new members unveil themselves, alongside everything they’ve worked and hoped for. “They’ll do their eight counts, perform solos, and share their names along with their accolades. It’s a truly magical moment when they finally cross over!” It sounds like a tear-jerker, folks!
The excitement is building as Savannah State prepares to host what promises to be an exhilarating event. If you haven’t grabbed your tickets yet, now’s the time! Mark your calendars for November 17, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Tiger Arena, and get ready to celebrate *Greek life* in all its glory!
So, gather your friends, wear your loudest colors, and prepare for an afternoon filled with cheers, spirited performances, and a whole lot of love for students crossing into their Greek organizations. It’s going to be a night to remember in Savannah!
