SCCPSS Offers Back-to-School Registration Assistance

After a long-awaited summer break, Savannah-Chatham County Public School students are gearing up for school, with classes resuming on Thursday, August 1, 2024. The district has already opened online registration but will also be offering an in-person registration event to assist families that need help navigating the process. The event will take place on July 16 at Southwest Middle School, and district staff will be on-site to provide assistance with several back-to-school services.

Savannah City Invites Teens to 2024 Speak Up, Speak Now Youth Summit

In an effort to empower the local youth and provide them with a platform, the City of Savannah is inviting all teens aged 13-18 to the ‘2024 Speak Up, Speak Now Youth Summit’ to be held at the Civic Center on July 18. This free event aims to ensure young adults have their voices heard and are able to discuss topics relevant to their age group, including social media, entrepreneurship, and mental wellness.

Ribbon Cutting Event for Upgrades at Staley Heights Park

In celebration of the new upgrades at Staley Heights Park, the City of Savannah and its Recreation and Leisure Services Department are set to host a ribbon-cutting event on Saturday, July 20, 2024. The renovation, which included the addition of new swing bays, spring riders, a play structure and a shade canopy, was completed to provide an improved recreational space for the local community.

SCAD Savannah Film Festival Returns for 27th Year

Mark your calendars! The Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) is all set to bring back the SCAD Savannah Film Festival from Saturday, October 26 through Saturday, November 2, 2024. Celebrating its 27th year of showcasing some of the year’s most highly anticipated films, this festival has become a premier event on the road to the Academy Awards. The festival promises to present a combination of award-winning films, emerging student projects, and various panel discussions and workshops to keep the audience engaged.
