Exciting Changes in Savannah: A New Editorial Vision

Hey there, Savannah! Big news is on the horizon as our beloved Savannah magazine welcomes a brand new face to lead its editorial team. Meet Kathryn Drury Wagner, who has recently been announced as the new Editor in Chief. Let’s dive into what this means for our vibrant community and the magazine that has been a staple in our area for nearly 35 years!

What’s New with Kathryn?

Kathryn isn’t just bringing a fresh vibe to Savannah magazine but also a wealth of experience. With over three decades spent navigating the publishing world, she’s worked on all sorts of titles that capture the essence of city life. From Honolulu magazine to Flea Market Décor, her background ranges from regional stories to special interest pieces. Plus, she’s authored two books and has a master’s degree in art history from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). Talk about a resume!

Living on Whitemarsh Island with her family, Kathryn’s passion for Savannah is evident. “I’m thrilled to take the editorial reins at Savannah magazine,” she shared. “It’s a beautifully produced publication entering its 35th year. I can’t wait to help our readers make the most of living in our beautiful and dynamic city — especially now when there are so many exciting changes happening here.” And wow, change is definitely coming!

There’s also the annual Southern Coastal Weddings magazine, perfect for anyone excited about tying the knot in our picturesque setting.

Publishing has been a tradition the magazine takes seriously, and with Kathryn at the helm, it seems poised to flourish even more. Publisher Anita Hagin could hardly contain her excitement, saying, “With her deep curiosity and passion for uncovering the stories that make our historic city truly unique, Kathryn brings a fresh perspective that perfectly aligns with our mission.”
