The city’s waterfront is set for its signature Fourth of July extravaganza from 6:30 to 10 p.m. at the Rousakis Riverfront Plaza. The headline act is the 3rd Infantry Division Band, known locally as “Best Band in the Land”, that will feature several performing groups including a New Orleans-style Brass Band, Rock Band, and Concert Band. An annual firework show slated for 9:30 p.m. will lend a grand finale to the day’s celebrations.
Scenic luxury hotel Thompson Savannah has planned not one but two parties. The first, a noontime pool party, promises curated beats by DJ Miss Paradise and refreshing drinks. Post sunset, the fete shifts to Bar Julian, the highest rooftop bar in Savannah, offering unparalleled views of the city’s skyline lit up in celebration.
A community concert at Eastern Wharf is also on the cards, presenting a musical evening with the Fabulous Equinox Orchestra. This free event is looking to draw crowds with music and vibrant views of the waterfront’s fireworks show.
Plant Riverside District is playing host to the Stars & Stripes Fourth of July celebration, a 4-day event featuring an array of recreational and entertaining activities. Expect games, crafts, caricatures, live music performances, and concluding with a spectacular display of fireworks over the Savannah River.
Savannah’s famous seaside spot, Tybee Island, has charted out a variety of exciting events over the holiday weekend too. Highlighting the itinerary is a community-wide parade and beach bash for daytime festivities, followed by Tybee’s dazzling annual fireworks show under the starlit skies.
History enthusiasts can head to Fort McAllister for their unique Independence Day festivities scheduled to transport visitors back to the year 1864. The event will feature live musket firings and artillery displays along with traditional games and slices of fresh watermelon.
