Savannah residents near the 2700 block of Ogeechee Road can now resume normal water usage following the lifting of a precautionary boil water advisory on Monday.

The advisory was implemented on the evening of March 21 due to a water main break resulting from ongoing construction at the intersection of Ogeechee Road and Stiles Avenue. Approximately 25 households were affected, specifically along the stretch between Dawes Avenue and Stiles Avenue.

During the advisory period, residents were directed to:

  • Boil water for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, and preparing baby formula.
  • Maintain a rolling boil for at least one minute to ensure safety.

Lab tests confirmed that water quality in the area met safety standards, leading to the advisory’s prompt lift. The measure was part of the City of Savannah’s commitment to public health and safety during the incident.

City official Evan Lasseter, a government reporter, provided updates regarding the event and its resolution.
