Bluffton, SC – On September 14, 2024, BlacQuity, a noble nonprofit committed to bolstering Black entrepreneurship, is set to host the second successive Roots & Rivers Festival.
This grand Coastal Cowboy and Cowgirl-themed event plans to take vibrant colors of celebration from 2 PM to 8 PM along the picturesque river view of Oyster Factory Park, 63 Wharf St. The guests at the event can expect a myriad of activities ranging from live music, line dancing, intriguing mechanical bull riding to an array of artisanal vendors, craft beer, food trucks, and the newly curated Kid Zone and VIP experiences.
The Roots & Rivers Festival aims to energize coastal Beaufort County, providing a bustling marketplace for small businesses, artisans, and Black entrepreneurs to demo their unique offerings. The primary objective of this fast-growing festivity is to fuel the local economy and foster community development by creating a positive, inclusive platform for these gifted individuals.
“Reflecting on last year’s exceptional success, we’re eager to propel the experience even further at this year’s Roots & Rivers Festival. We’ve planned an unforgettable day encapsulating the spirit and culture of the Lowcountry while showcasing the vast talent and entrepreneurship found amongst our black-owned businesses. It’s a hearty celebration of our community’s resilience, creativity, and success,” expressed Gwen Chambers, the Executive Director of BlacQuity.
True to its ethos, the festival promises an array of highlights, encapsulating a lively beer garden, line dancing, and live music performances by the enchanting Deas Guyz. Moreover, guests can tuck into a range of mouthwatering culinary offerings by several food trucks. A horde of vendors will exclusively showcase unique products and services, promising an unforgettable shopping extravaganza.
A warm thank you goes out to the community and patrons of the festival, including Burnt Church Distillery, Lowcountry Legacy Fund, and the Town of Bluffton – Heart of the Lowcountry for their Platinum sponsorship.
Gwen Chambers, again, highlighted the impact of their support, “Through their extraordinary commitment to fostering entrepreneurship, music, arts, and community, these sponsors have significantly influenced the festival. Their unwavering support promises a unique experience for all attendees. We are beyond grateful for their faith in our mission, and we look forward to showcasing the region’s diverse talent with such incredible support.”
Early Bird general admission tickets for the Roots & Rivers Festival are now available at $15 and would be priced at $20 at the gate on the event day. For those seeking a premier experience, they offer a limited number of VIP experiences priced at $125.
