Ridgeland is buzzing with excitement as the new Papa Murphy’s Pizza settles into the community with a delicious mission. Located at 46 Terrace Dr., this take-and-bake pizza establishment officially opened its doors on July 25, marking a vibrant addition to the local dining scene.
Aaron Bonner, the proud owner of this latest franchise, is all about community. “I want to try to provide what we have to those who need it and be completely involved in the community,” he shared with enthusiasm. His vision for Papa Murphy’s goes beyond just serving pizza; he aims to create a culinary experience that resonates with the local residents.
The take-and-bake concept is a newer idea for the East Coast, and it’s gaining traction quickly. Bonner explains, “This is pizza we prepare with fresh dough and toppings, and then the customer takes it back home to bake it. This allows for the freshest pizza possible, as it is taken straight out of the oven and placed on their table.” Gone are the days of frozen pizzas languishing in the back of the freezer; at Papa Murphy’s, customers can create a hot, gourmet pizza whenever they feel like it!
Notably, Papa Murphy’s operates without on-site freezers or ovens, showcasing its commitment to freshness. This new location is already generating buzz, particularly as Bonner has ensured their pizzas align with *nutritional guidelines for schools and organizations*. “Our pizzas are not only gourmet, they also fit the nutritional guidelines for schools and other organizations,” Bonner noted proudly.
Migrating to the Lowcountry from Florida, Bonner came to the area due to his wife Kristina’s orders to serve as a dentist at Parris Island. A Denver native and a retired U.S. Navy veteran, Bonner spent a combined total of 22 years in service, including as a Navy rescue swimmer and flight officer. His military background shines through in his approach to business, emphasizing leadership, communication, and a sense of community.
Bonner is not just building a business; he is crafting a community hub. With 17 employees under his guidance, he is already planning expansions into the Beaufort area. He shared, “The military allowed me to learn leadership and that you have to communicate with the customers and employees.” His vision extends to fostering a sense of *camaraderie* and *togetherness* in his shop.
Growing up in a modest family, Bonner’s heart is set on giving back to the community. His mission? To be woven into the fabric of Ridgeland. “I want to completely involve the community into the business and give as much back as I can,” he expressed earnestly. Bonner aims to participate in fundraisers and support local endeavors, making Papa Murphy’s a contributing member of the community.
Ray Zandi, the Vice President of U.S. Business Development for Papa Murphy’s, remarked on the thriving market potential in the Ridgeland location, highlighting that strong sales have already been recorded. “The brand is very strong, and this is a great franchise for the business,” Zandi noted. With many military families relocating to the area, Bonner’s pizza shop comes with a built-in fan base.
As Ridgeland embraces its newest culinary gem, it is clear that Papa Murphy’s Pizza is more than just another restaurant. It is a labor of love, a community-oriented business with a focus on quality and connection. So, whether you fancy a cozy night in or a family gathering, grab a pizza and get ready to bake your way to a delightful dining experience right from your own kitchen!
