New Pulmonary Specialists Practice Opens in Beaufort

Hey there, Beaufort! We’ve got some fantastic news that’s sure to brighten your day! The folks over at Beaufort Memorial Hospital (BMH) have just expanded their Pulmonary Specialists practice, and it’s set to make a huge difference for all our friends and family experiencing respiratory issues in the Lowcountry area. This new office is located at the Lowcountry Medical Group at 300 Midtown Drive—how convenient is that?

Why This Expansion Matters

According to BMH’s President and CEO, Russell Baxley, this expansion is super important. He mentioned in a recent news release, “the expansion of the Pulmonary Specialists practice represents an important step in BMH’s continued efforts to expand access to quality healthcare in the Lowcountry.” That means residents who are dealing with any kind of respiratory problems will now have top-notch specialists right here in their own backyard!

Meet the Team

Leading the charge at this new location will be board-certified pulmonologist Dr. John Krcmarik, who comes with some serious credentials. He graduated from Loyola’s Stritch School of Medicine and completed his training at the renowned Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. Not only is he a specialist in pulmonary critical care, but he’s also certified in sleep medicine! How cool is that?

But that’s not all! Dr. Krcmarik won’t be alone in this new venture. He’ll be joined by the talented Dr. Andrew Stevens, who also holds board certification in pulmonary disease. Dr. Stevens graduated summa cum laude from St. George’s University School of Medicine and completed his residency at Georgetown University. He then went on to complete a fellowship at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Clearly, these two docs know their stuff!

And let’s not forget about Shawna Nievierowski, a board-certified family nurse practitioner who has dedicated over a decade to pulmonary care. She holds both a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and has made it her mission to help people breathe easier.

Services Provided

This newly expanded practice isn’t just a place for check-ups and consultations; all three providers will also be treating patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Beaufort Memorial Hospital. Talk about comprehensive care! Whether you need a routine visit or more serious attention, this team has you covered.
