As the sunny city of Savannah gears up for an electrifying weekend, the buzz on campus is all about the eagerly awaited probate ceremony. Scheduled for tomorrow, November 17, 2024, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the renowned Tiger Arena, this event is poised to be a highlight of Savannah State University’s social calendar!
Curious about what a probate is? I caught up with the fabulous Nadia Qualls, the 87th Miss Savannah State University, and an esteemed member of Alpha Kappa Alpha, to get the lowdown. “A probate is basically a presentation show where all the D9 Greeks and organizations come together to showcase what they’ve learned throughout their journey,” she explained with a smile. “It’s not just about the D9; it’s a celebration for all Greek organizations!”
If you’re planning to attend, prepare for an afternoon full of high energy! “Tomorrow, you can expect to see hype, energy, parents being excited, people yelling and screaming,” Nadia described eagerly. The Zetas, Alphas, Delta Sigma Pi, and Sigmas are set to impress the crowd with their stunning presentation outfits and choreographed moves. You won’t want to miss this!
Wondering who’s likely to show up? Nadia reassured me, “Everyone will be there! The Iotas and organizations like the Zetas, Sigmas, Alphas, Delta Sigma Pi, and AKAs will be in attendance. It’s a gathering of Greek pride and community!” So, if you’re part of the campus community, mark your calendar—it’s the place to be!
As someone deeply committed to her organization, Nadia has her personal favorites. “I’m particularly looking forward to seeing the Alphas,” she confided. “We have two Alphas on our yard now, and I’m excited for our five new members who will be making their grand entrance. They’ve been showing their dedication, and I can’t wait to see what they bring to the floor!”
When pressed about any special surprises for this year’s probate, Nadia couldn’t contain her enthusiasm. “Honestly, the entire presentation is going to be exciting! It’s all about seeing what the new members have learned and how they introduce themselves to the crowd. The camaraderie and support from old alumni coming back to cheer on their new members is a real spectacle,” she explained.
For Nadia, the heart-stopping moment comes at the end. “Oh, my favorite part? It’s all about the revealing! It’s that moment when you see who they really are after all the hard work they put in. They do their eight counts, the solo introductions with all of their accolades…I just can’t wait for that revealing moment!” she said, her eyes sparkling with anticipation.
So, are you ready to join in on the excitement? The probate promises to be a rich tapestry of energy, celebration, and tradition—a perfect way to connect with fellow students and witness the spirit of Greek life at Savannah State University. Bring your friends, cheer on your favorites, and be part of something truly special!
Mark your calendars for tomorrow! 🎉 The atmosphere is already buzzing, and you won’t want to miss a minute of the thrilling presentations at Tiger Arena!
