Once Upon A Child is set to open its newest location in Bluffton on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at 10 a.m. The store focuses on providing affordable and sustainable shopping solutions for families, specializing in gently used children’s clothing, toys, and other items.

Location Details

The new store is located at 1202-A Fording Island Road, conveniently near God’s Goods Thrift Store, Hilton Head BMW, and Whisper Creek Spa.

Grand Opening Events

The opening weekend will feature several exciting events:

  • Thursday, March 6:
    • First 25 customers receive a $25 gift card.
    • Giveaway of a gently used Radio Flyer Red Wagon.
    • Balloon artist on-site from 5-7 p.m.
  • Friday, March 7:
    • Giveaway for a gently used wooden dollhouse.
    • Face painting from 4-6 p.m.
  • Saturday, March 8:
    • Giveaway for a new Little Tikes Bounce House.
    • Princess Elsa will visit from 2-4 p.m.
  • Sunday, March 9:

Meet the Owner

Owner Leah Baker, a lifelong thrifting enthusiast, was inspired by the Once Upon A Child concept 15 years ago. She signed a lease to open the store with her late sister two years ago.

The store does not require appointments and pays customers immediately for items they bring in. Stringent safety standards are upheld to ensure quality, including regular checks for recalled items.

Baker aims to create a welcoming space for local families to shop affordably and sustainably.

Store Hours

Once Upon A Child will operate from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays.
