Bluffton – Republican presidential candidate and former South Carolina Governor, Nikki Haley, is scheduled to host an “Early Voting Bus Tour stop ” in Bluffton this Tuesday. The event, which is slated to commence at 12:30 p.m., will take place at the Bluffton Oyster Factory Park on February 13.
This marks the second time in the past month that Haley has toured Beaufort County in hopes of galvanizing voters ahead of South Carolina’s Republican primary, scheduled for February 24. Haley remains the final significant contender against former President Donald Trump for the Republican presidential nomination.
Recent polling data indicates a significant lead for Trump with just two weeks left before the primary. A poll conducted on Feb. 1 suggests Trump has 58% support compared to Haley’s 32% among potential Republican primary voters.
Haley, also a former U.S. Ambassador, held a community meet-and-greet on Hilton Head earlier this month. The candidate has spared no effort in reaching out to voters, drawing praise for her active engagement during the campaign.
Despite her relentless campaigning, Haley suffered defeat in the recent Nevada Republican presidential primary. Disturbingly for Haley, Trump was not even on the ballot. However, instead of voting for Haley, GOP voters chose the “none of these candidates” option.
Despite the significant challenges, Haley remains persistent in her political ambitions. Her upcoming visit to Bluffton shows her continued efforts to connect with voters and her commitment to the Presidential race. Only time will tell if her efforts will translate into the support she needs to secure the Republican presidential nomination.
