Located in Hilton Head, the Nash Gallery has been a proud purveyor of American and Canadian handmade art for nearly four decades. The gallery was established by the visionary couple, Peter and MaryAnn Stewart, who were driven by their desire to create an exclusive platform for showcasing the work of local artists. Their legacy of the celebration of American art is now continued by their daughter, Lynn.
Ever since Peter passed away, Lynn, along with the gallery’s long-time manager and art enthusiast, Tiffany Whitley, has been curating the collection and operations of the gallery. Despite the ease and affordability of sourcing international art, the duo has remained steadfast in their commitment to promoting domestic artistry, a testament to Peter’s vision. Strengthening their promise, they ensure that the gallery’s charming inventory doesn’t just stop at the art – even the packaging is proudly American.
Lynn and Tiffany are tireless in their quest for original, handmade pieces, attending as many as four shows per season. They tirelessly explore each showroom, aiming their efforts at upholding the authentic ambiance of the gallery that its patrons have come to love over the years. Even though the team has long-standing relationships with many artists they’ve been featuring since the gallery’s inception, they are consistently on the lookout for fresh creators to keep the gallery’s collection invigorating and diverse.
Every visit to the Nash Gallery promises something new. From exquisite garden pieces, vibrant glasswork, unique pottery to finely wrought jewelry, the gallery changes its look with every incoming stock. Not only do they offer stunningly diverse art, but they also master the art of customer service. Paying attention to every detail, the team ensures an amazing experience for every patron.
Being a local favorite, Nash Gallery carries forward the warmth of a ‘mom and pop’ store, in the heart of Hilton Head’s beautiful Shelter Cove Harbor. They cherish their local community by hosting an annual end-of-year celebration, replete with catering, door prizes, and raffles, creating a wholesome atmosphere of artistic admiration and appreciation.
One of the gallery’s most awaited events is the Hilton Head Art Festival held every spring. This festival stands as a testament to the vibrant art scene in the neighborhood, and the details for the 2025 lineup will be released soon.
