Beaufort, SC, as Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC-01) is all set to meet the city’s constituents this Monday evening. The event is open to all members of the community and the media. Titled “Cheers With Your Congresswoman,” the event binds to provide an opportunity for the local community to interact with their elected representative.
The event is scheduled to take place from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Bricks on Boundary at 1422 Boundary Street in Beaufort. According to the plan, Mace will be available to discuss local issues, listen to concerns, and connect with the Beaufort community in a relaxed and informal setting.
Mace has had a remarkable journey in public service. She emerged as the first female graduate of The Citadel’s Corps of Cadets. Later, she won the 2020 election to represent South Carolina’s 1st Congressional District, defeating the then incumbent Democrat Joe Cunningham. She secured her position in 2022 after successfully defeating Democratic challenger Dr. Annie Andrews, a renowned Charleston-area pediatrician.
As she continues her second term, Mace faces a new set of challenges. She is being contested by two other party members – Catherine Templeton and Bill Young, in the upcoming Tuesday, June 11, primary election. The Republican primary winner will then compete in the November 5 general election against the winner of the Democratic primary, which is being contested by Mac Deford and Michael B. Moore.
It remains to be seen how this event will shape opinion ahead of the primary elections. But the take-away for the community members, as it stands, is an unrivaled opportunity to get to know their representative, understand her stand on pressing issues, and share their concerns and suggestions – all while enjoying an unforgettable evening at Bricks on Boundary.
