Mace has had a remarkable journey in public service. She emerged as the first female graduate of The Citadel’s Corps of Cadets. She secured her position in 2022 after successfully defeating Democratic challenger Dr. Annie Andrews, a renowned Charleston-area pediatrician.

She is being contested by two other party members – Catherine Templeton and Bill Young, in the upcoming Tuesday, June 11, primary election.
