In the heart of Hilton Head, a revolution in relaxation therapy has taken root. Moor Spa Hilton Head, sitting comfortably on Dunmore Court, offers a distinctive spa experience for those locals and visitors who seek a little something different from the norm.

The spa’s modus operandi revolves around a unique “earth therapy experience”. To quote Deb Durrant, the spa owner and certified massage therapist, “We’re all stressed in life…and so we need to be guided to let go”. The treatments offered at Moor Spa Hilton Head aim to help people release stress in an extremely natural and organic way.

Uniquely, the spa utilizes treatments utilizing materials sourced from nature reserves across the world, including moor from Vorarlberg, Austria, algamoor from a lakebed in Northern Germany, ground gemstone clay from Vancouver Island, and kelp enzyme from an ancient seabed in Nevada. Durrant and her team believe these natural ingredients form the basis for an enhanced spa treatment.

Expanded Offerings and New Renovations

Having opened its doors just last year, Moor Spa Hilton Head revamped its services in January to further entice couples and groups such as bridal parties keen on taking their spa treatments together. The freshly redesigned Elevation Lounge can now accommodate up to four therapy tables at once.

A Touch of Uniqueness

The Moor Spa product line, conceived by Michael Beresford in late 1990s in Canada, is now sold globally, encompassing more than 80 diverse products. However, the Hilton Head spa stakes claim to being the only spa of its kind, offering treatments unique to its location. Said Durrant, “We have very unique treatments that we do at the spa. It’s different, very different.”

Relieving Water Therapies

The spa, however, doesn’t just stop with mud. Water forms a crucial element of the therapy treatments as well, with a 72-inch tub where clients can luxuriate in warm water infused with moor. According to Durrant, the warm bath experience is ideal for people suffering from chronic pain conditions, “you’ll feel relief right away,” she promised.

Vichy Table and Sauna Adventures

Beyond baths, Moor Spa’s therapies extend to a vichy table. A body mask with moor or other products is applied, followed by a steam treatment with a canopy. Shower heads built into the canopy are then used for an in-place rinse. The on-site sauna comfortably fits three and offers dry salt, light therapy, an array of facials, traditional relaxation, and deep-tissue massages.
