Master Steel Announces Expansion and Creation of New Jobs in Hardeeville

The announcement was confirmed by the Governor’s Office in a recent news release. Investing in the local economy, Master Steel signals a commitment not only to growth but also to the enrichment of workers’ lives.
“Master Steel’s expansion represents a commitment to South Carolina’s economy, creating new job opportunities and reinforcing our state’s position as a leader in the manufacturing industry,” Gov. Henry McMaster said. “We welcome this investment and look forward to Master Steel’s continued success in Jasper County.”

Featuring a tenure of over 15 years in the industry, Master Steel has made its mark as a structural steel fabrication and erection company. The business specializes in structural and miscellaneous steel fabrication. Proudly serving South Carolina and Georgia, the company aids in building large facilities to installing steel stairs in residential homes, highlighting its versatility.

Details of the Expansion
The expansion is planned in two phases and is to include a new fabrication shop, a 10-ton outside girder crane, and new robotic machinery. The Coordinating Council for Economic Development has awarded a $50,000 Set-Aside grant to Jasper County to assist with real property improvements, thus further underlining the state’s commitment to local business development.
Speaking to the ambitious future of the company, Donald Stephens shared, “We want to put on more people. We want to grow and produce jobs here.” The vision of the company is to double its current size, which at present employs 40 people.

Others from the local community were quick to recognize and celebrate Master Steel’s expansion. SouthernCarolina Alliance President and CEO Danny Black lauded the business for its material and community contributions. Jasper County Council Chairman Marty Sauls, during the council meeting, thanked the Stephens for their contribution towards job creation in the county.
“This is an example of the American dream,” Sauls said. “The backbone of our county, our country, a mom-and-pop, husband and wife, family-owned business that’s doing good things. They are creating opportunities, good-paying jobs, and careers for people right here where we live.”
