Savannah State University is buzzing with energy following the Mass Communication Student Association (MCSA) incredible appearance at the recent organizational fair. It’s not every day that an event stirs up such excitement, but this one certainly did! With an inviting booth brimming with engaging visuals and warm conversations about their mission and upcoming initiatives, MCSA managed to draw in a wave of enthusiastic students.
This year’s fair was nothing short of a spectacle, with eager students from varied majors flocking to learn more about what MCSA has to offer. By the time the interest meeting kicked off, it was clear: MCSA had hit the jackpot with a bustling crowd of 33 new members eager to dive into the world of media!
At the meeting, students were introduced to MCSA’s vibrant mission and discovered a treasure trove of resources and media opportunities at their fingertips. The energy in the room was palpable as members-to-be mingled enthusiastically, each one keen to contribute their unique skills to the organization.
The excitement doesn’t stop there! Since the interest meeting, MCSA has been busy making waves in the community by covering significant events, including the wild ride of Hurricanes Milton and Helene last month. How’s that for jumping right into action?
One new member making big strides is the talented Chantel Dixon. She’s been diving headfirst into her new role and has already made a splash by creating dynamic videos for MCSA’s social media platforms. Reflecting on her first project, she shared an exhilarating experience:
“Attending the step show helped by just being able to represent MCSA and be a face for our org at a campus event. Going to this event allowed me to gain insight about our HBCU’s festivities for homecoming on behalf of MCSA to better build our organization’s goals,” Dixon remarked with pride.
Like any newcomer, Dixon faced her share of challenges. “Some challenges I faced was honestly getting the best shots I could for the content we provide for our community. I am most proud of being able to be a part of such a great team that helped me throughout this process,” she explained. It’s clear she has embraced the MCSA spirit of collaboration!
Her hard work paid off, and she expressed her happiness, saying, “I am proud I was able to put together an amazing project.” With passionate individuals like Dixon on board, MCSA is surely paving the way for a media-savvy student community at Savannah State University, and it shows no signs of slowing down.
As the season changes and the skies remain overcast—today’s forecast hints at a few lingering showers with highs around 76°F and a light breeze—students continue to rally together. With cloudier days ahead, MCSA’s initiatives will shine bright, encouraging more students to engage, explore, and express their creativity.
In summary, the enthusiasm surrounding the MCSA is on the rise, and we can’t wait to see what’s next for this dynamic organization. So, if you’re a student looking to sharpen your media skills and have a bit of fun along the way, there’s no better time to join the ranks of this thriving community!
