A bright spot for the Mariners was at the No. 1 singles line where Ana Gonzales had won her first set 7-6 and was in a second set battle when the match was called off. Azul Malatini had also won her first set 6-4 and was leading her second set 2-1 when the match ended.
On the other hand, the (24) Marian women head into the matchup following a 6-1 win over (RV) Oakland City and will also take on Lawrence Tech on Monday morning. The Knights won the doubles point with a 6-3 victory at No. 1 followed by a 6-2 win at No. 3 to secure the point. In singles play, lines one through five all secured a point, with the highest set being won 6-4.
First serve is set for 1:30 p.m. from the Hilton Head Beach and Tennis Resort. Both teams will be looking to bounce back and secure a win in this midweek clash. The competition promises to be fierce, with players eager to showcase their skills and lead their teams to victory.
