Veterans Day Parade in Bluffton

First up, we have the Annual Veterans’ Day Parade hosted by the Bluffton American Legion Post 205. This heartwarming event is all set for November 11 at 10 a.m. in Old Town Bluffton. It’s a fantastic opportunity for groups, organizations, or individuals who want to participate in honoring our brave veterans—no entry fee required! All you need to do is bring a military or patriotic theme. It’s a great way to show your appreciation and thank veterans from all walks of life and conflicts. Echoes of Honey Hill Program

Next, let’s talk about the Echoes of Honey Hill program happening on November 9. It’s hosted by the Morris Center of the Lowcountry as part of their fundraising efforts. Visitors can look forward to a symposium featuring insights from Jacob Wike, Michael Skinner, and Dr. Walter Curry. This event is all about celebrating the 160th anniversary of the Battle of Honey Hill. Plus, attendees will enjoy a delightful gourmet buffet crafted to reflect the culinary delights of the era. Think mouthwatering dishes like mac and cheese, glazed carrots, chicken breast adorned with onions and peppers, roast beef drenched in gravy, and, for dessert, bread pudding!

For those feeling a bit fancy, the VIP experience is available for $250 and includes an exclusive on-site tour of the Honey Hill Battle Site before the symposium kicks off. Veterans Appreciation Day Lowcountry Boil

On November 15, there’s a perfect way to enjoy good company and great food at the Veterans Appreciation Day Lowcountry Boil from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.. This event will take place at Sergeant Jasper Park located at 1458 Red Dam Road in Hardeeville. It’s open to all veterans and their dependents—active, reserve, honorable, or not—everyone is heartily welcome! This is a brilliant opportunity to gather, share stories, and enjoy a wonderful meal together.

Lowcountry Glass Mosaic Workshop

And for those who are more artistically inclined, don’t miss out on the Lowcountry Glass Mosaic Workshop on November 16 starting at 10 a.m.. This workshop takes place at the Morris Center for Lowcountry Heritage located at 10782 S. Jacob Smart Boulevard in Ridgeland. Attendees will learn how to create a beautiful mosaic suncatcher under the guidance of glass artist Pat Stone. You’ll also pick up skills on safely cutting glass, following mosaic patterns, and grouting pieces. These spots in the workshop tend to fill up quickly, so don’t hesitate!
