Beautiful Weather Week Ahead in the Lowcountry Amid Flooding Alerts and Active Tropics

Beautiful Weather in the Lowcountry This Week

Good morning, Lowcountry! If you’re stepping outside today, prepare for some lovely weather ahead. It’s a perfect day to enjoy what mother nature has to offer, as we’re looking at temperatures reaching the mid-80s with mostly cloudy skies. Don’t worry, though; the rain isn’t a factor for today, so you can leave your umbrellas at home!

What’s Coming Up This Week?

Starting with today, we’ll see mostly overcast conditions, but thankfully, no rain is expected. With highs hovering between 83°F and 86°F, you might want to grab a light jacket for the early morning or evening when it cools down a bit.

As we move into Wednesday, a cold front is expected to sweep through the area. This front will keep us dry, with a delightful mix of sun and clouds throughout the day. Temperatures will slightly dip, but we’ll still be basking in the warmth, with highs ranging from 82°F to 86°F.

Looking Ahead

Thursday through Monday is shaping up to be a breezy stretch of beautiful weather! Daytime conditions are forecast to be mostly sunny to partly cloudy with very low chances of rain—so you might want to plan those outdoor activities you’ve been putting off. Daytime highs will remain comfortably above average, also varying in the mid-80s. Isn’t that fantastic?

Flooding Alerts in the Lowcountry

Lowcountry rivers. In particular, areas around the Santee River near Jamestown are likely to see major flooding by Thursday night. If you’re in or traveling through this area, please take necessary precautions and stay alert to updates!

An Active Tropics Update

In addition to Kirk, there’s also an area of low pressure near the Cabo Verde Islands that’s showing a high potential for development. A tropical depression could form from this system in the coming days, so we’ll want to keep an eye on it. There’s another area of low pressure in the Caribbean as well, which has a medium chance of development.

As of this moment, we can breathe easy because none of these systems pose an immediate threat to our beautiful Lowcountry. Let’s enjoy the gorgeous weather ahead while staying informed about any changes.

Today’s Tides

If you’re near the coast today, you may want to check the tides. Here’s what to expect: the low tide will occur at 1:38 AM and again at 1:53 PM. High tide will hit at 7:47 AM and 7:57 PM. Perfect timing for some seaside fun or perhaps a relaxing fishing trip!

So there you go—an enticing weather forecast for our area and a gentle reminder to stay vigilant regarding rising river levels. Enjoy your day, and here’s to a spectacular week ahead!
