According to James Berry, a board member of the Junior Jazz Foundation, “The Junior Jazz Foundation has an instrument donation program, a school grant program, college scholarship program, lots of different things that they help support.”

Berry, who founded the Hilton Head jazz camp in 2011, spoke passionately about how the festival and the foundation work together to encourage young musicians. He expressed pride, sharing, “We have about 15 alumni that are currently full-time musicians, so it’s really awesome to see the impact that the camp has had over the years.” This highlights just how crucial initiatives like this are in nurturing the next generation of talent.
