Holiday Nights & Lights
First up is the enchanting Holiday Nights & Lights at the Historic Mitchelville Freedom Park. This drive-through spectacular runs from Saturday, December 7 to Monday, December 9, open from 6-8 PM. Admission? It’s free, but if you’re feeling generous, donations are certainly appreciated. You’ll be mesmerized by the twinkling lights as you take a leisurely drive down Harriet Tubman Way — a perfect way to ignite that holiday spirit!
Holiday Lights at Fire Station 3
Next on our festive journey is the annual Holiday Lights at Fire Station 3 located at 534 William Hilton Parkway. This jolly display encourages community spirit, as local Fire Rescue will be collecting non-perishable food items and new unwrapped toys. Drop off your donations for ages 1-12 until December 15, or non-perishable items through January, while enjoying the display. Makes for a great night out, doesn’t it?
Hilton Head Island Christmas Tree Lighting
Don’t miss out on the Hilton Head Island Christmas Tree Lighting on Saturday, December 7 at the Lowcountry Celebration Park. Starting at 5:30 PM, the event features a laser light show, local music, and food trucks. The grand lighting of the giant 30-foot tree happens at 6:30 PM, a sight you won’t want to miss!
Town of Bluffton Tree Lighting Ceremony
In Bluffton, the holiday excitement continues with their 53rd tree lighting ceremony. Join the festivities this Friday, December 6 at Martin Family Park starting at 5:30 PM. Bring the kiddos to experience a mini train ride, catch a screening of “Polar Express,” and explore Santa’s Workshop. Talk about a festive day out!
Aquarium Aglow
For a truly magical experience, head to the South Carolina Aquarium in Charleston from November 23 to December 30. Enjoy mind-blowing light displays, unique photo opportunities, and even a chance to meet Santa! Tickets are between $21.95 and $29.95, booked via their website – it’s a night out worth every penny!
Holiday Festival of Lights
The 32nd annual Holiday Festival of Lights at James Island County Park is a must-see! Open through December 31, this three-mile tour features over 750 light displays and even a ride on their holiday train. Tickets are just $15 per vehicle, and trust us, it’s a fantastic way to soak in the festive vibes!
College of Charleston Light Show
From December 14 to January 1, College of Charleston transforms into a winter wonderland at the historic Cistern Yard. This exquisite light display illuminates the live oaks, and what’s better? Grab a cup of hot chocolate on weekends while you enjoy the show. And guess what? It’s absolutely free!
Neighborhood Lights
If home decor is more your style, take a stroll through Ivy Hall to see Kelli Frazier Miller’s renowned holiday display lighting up North Mount Pleasant nightly. Additionally, visit festive locations like Walking in a Woodlands Wonderland or the Wonderland of Temuco Lane in Summerville, where you can also help Lowcountry Orphan Relief with some donations.
