The holiday spirit is just around the corner, and it’s time to kick off the festive celebrations in the Coastal Empire and Lowcountry! From savory delights to twinkling lights, the season promises an incredible lineup of events starting this November and running through the New Year. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, there’s something for everyone to enjoy!
Savannah is set to light up the holiday season starting November 21 until December 31 with the Savannah Christmas Market at Plant Riverside District and the enchanting Festival of Trees, both free and open to the public. Mark your calendars for November 29 when festivities really kick off with the Gingerbread House Unveiling at 4 p.m., followed by the grand Christmas Lighting Ceremony from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Just before that, the Savannah Holiday Tree Lighting will brighten the corner of Broughton & Bull Streets at 5 p.m.
The Savannah Boat Parade of Lights promises to be a stunning sight as it rolls into Eastern Wharf on November 30 starting at 7 p.m. Firmly planted on the calendar are the magnificent Christmas on the River celebrations on December 13 and 14, leading to the heartwarming Savannah Lighted Christmas Parade launching from Plant Riverside District at 5:30 p.m. each day!
As we move through December, don’t miss Chanukah at Forsyth on December 29 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., adding a special touch of diversity to the festivities.
But wait, Savannah isn’t the only town getting festive! Down in Alma, the Christmas Lighting Festival in Goldwasser Park on November 25 will include bounce houses, food, and a special visit from Santa from 5 to 7 p.m., followed by the Alma Christmas Parade on December 14 starting at 2 p.m.
In Baxley, get ready for the Christmas Parade on the Farm on December 14, beginning at 5:30 p.m. at Walmart, then head over to the Winter Wonderland at Baxley City Hall for some snowy magic!
Beaufort is also rolling in the cheer with their Night on the Town on December 6, featuring a fabulous tree lighting at 8 p.m. Not to be outdone, Bluffton’s tree lighting at Martin Family Park will dazzle visitors on December 6 at 5:30 p.m. Just the following day, December 7, both Bluffton and Beaufort are hosting their respective Christmas parades!
Various towns across the Coastal Empire and Lowcountry have planned fantastic events! For instance, Metter invites everyone to their Lighting of Metter celebration on December 5. Meanwhile, in Ridgeland, the Christmas Parade on December 5 at 6 p.m. will surely brighten the day!
