Hilton Head Island Names Jeffrey Netzinger as New Engineering & Projects Director

Hilton Head Island Welcomes New Engineering & Projects Director!

In a delightful turn of events for the community, Hilton Head Island has recently elevated Jeffrey Netzinger to the position of Engineering & Projects Director. It’s a big deal, especially since Jeff has been a driving force in town since he joined in 2017.

From Stormwater Manager to Leadership Role

As many locals know, Jeff started out as the Stormwater Manager, a role he took on with gusto and determination. Fast forward to now, and he’s taken on more responsibilities that include overseeing the Public Projects, Stormwater, and Transportation Divisions. Talk about climbing the ladder!

During his tenure as Stormwater Manager, he’s proven to be quite the innovator. One of his standout achievements is the creation of a stormwater risk assessment tool. This nifty little gadget helps prioritize service requests and even assists with budget planning. It’s all about being efficient, and Jeff has shown that he’s committed to getting things done right and on time.

Bravery During Hurricane Season

Jeff and his team have also been on the front lines during hurricane threats, making sure to monitor water levels and implement smart measures to prevent flooding. It’s no small feat when you consider how vital it is to keep the community safe during those stormy times!

A Perfect Fit for the Role

Assistant Town Manager Shawn Leininger couldn’t be more thrilled with Jeff’s promotion. “Jeff’s extensive experience in transportation facility design, stormwater infrastructure, and traffic studies, combined with his deep knowledge of our Island’s infrastructure, make him the ideal choice to lead the Engineering & Projects Department,” he said in a recent statement.

Shawn’s confidence in Jeff’s abilities speaks volumes! The hands-on experience he has gained throughout his career, along with his knack for building strong relationships with vendors, colleagues, and community stakeholders, sets him apart as a leader. There’s no doubt he has earned the respect of many for his innovative thinking and dedication.

Educational Background that Impresses

For those curious about his educational background, Jeff holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Georgia State University and a degree in civil engineering from the prestigious Georgia Institute of Technology. Prior to joining the Town, he spent over 17 years working at Hussey Gay Bell in Savannah, Georgia, as a Project Manager and Director of Transportation.

Looking Ahead

As Jeff steps into this expanded role, the community is eager to see how his leadership will further enhance the town’s projects. It’s an inspiring chapter not just for Jeff but for everyone residing in Hilton Head Island. With his track record, it’s hard not to be excited about what’s in store!

So, here’s a toast to Jeffrey Netzinger! May your innovative spirit and dedication continue to make Hilton Head Island a better place for all its residents.

Cheers to a future of safe, efficient, and innovative engineering on the Island!
