This fall, the charming Art League of Hilton Head is set to dazzle art lovers with an incredible exhibition titled Colors of the Lowcountry & Beyond featuring the talented oil and pastel plein air impressionist, Carol Iglesias. Running from October 22 through November 22, 2024, this showcase will provide a delightful opportunity to experience the vibrant beauty of the Lowcountry through the artist’s eyes.

A Bit About Carol Iglesias

Carol Iglesias is not just any artist; she’s a founding member of the Hilton Head Island Plein Air Painters and has garnered numerous awards from well-respected art organizations, such as the Society of Bluffton Artists, the Art League of Hilton Head, and the Maryland Pastel Society. For her breathtaking work, she’s even earned international recognition and undertook an artist residency in Dinan, France, where she showcased her paintings. Her pieces have also appeared in reputable publications like Carolina Arts and American Art Collector.

Bringing Nature to Life

What sets Iglesias apart in the art world is her exceptional ability to capture the essence of a scene through her plein air paintings. According to her, “Working outside allows me to study all the constantly changing subtleties of colors, shadows, and light.” This passion comes to life in her work, where she focuses on the interplay of light, shadow, and color, encapsulating the emotional energy of the places she paints. “Once inspired, I try to capture the color, light, and energy as quickly as I can,” she explains, giving viewers a glimpse into her artistic process.
