New Hibachi Restaurant Opening Soon in Beaufort

Chick ‘N Boba set to revolutionize the dining scene with its Asian inspired cuisine

A sign of a vibrant dining culture in Beaufort, South Carolina, an exciting Asian fusion restaurant, Chick ’N Boba, is set to open its doors at the Beaufort Town Center soon.

Third culinary venture by the Lins in Beaufort

The forthcoming venture represents the third eatery in northern Beaufort County by the Lin family, who also own Yummy Hibachi and Sushi Bar in Port Royal and the House of Tang Chinese Restaurant on Ribaut Road.

According to owner Dan Lin, Chick ‘N Boba will serve a combo of hibachi to-go, boba, and Asian-inspired fried chicken.

Introducing Boba and Hibachi to-go

Although boba – often referred to as bubble tea – is relatively new to Beaufort, Chick ’N Boba plans to familiarize locals with this unique Taiwanese beverage that was introduced to the U.S in the 1990s. Boba usually consists of a milk tea with balls of tapioca, consumed with a large straw.

Breaking from convention, the restaurant will not have hibachi grills on-site or chefs to whip up dishes directly in front of customers. However, it promises a range of hibachi meals, including shrimp, steak, and chicken, which will be available for dine-in or take-out. The preparation time is expected to be around 15 minutes.

Enter the dragon – Asian Fried Chicken

Asian-style fried chicken will be another mainstay on the menu but won’t resemble traditional southern fried chicken. According to Lin, American fried chicken relies heavily on the batter, while Asian-style fried chicken emphasizes marinating and spices such as ginger, nutmeg, chili sauce, and soy sauce. The result is a crispier, flavorful change from the norm.

Operational Modalities

In addition to dine-in facilities, the owners have added a functioning takeout window to efficient service. Chick ‘N Boba is located at 2121 Boundary Street, Suite 108, formerly the premises of Clean Eatz and J. Lee’s Coney Island.

The restaurant will operate Wednesday through Monday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and will be closed on Tuesdays. For those who prefer to enjoy the delicious offerings in the comfort of their own homes, delivery will be available through DoorDash.

The Lin family is currently applying the finishing touches to the premises and anticipates a grand opening sometime in March. For more detailed information about the restaurant, patrons can check the website at www.ChickNBobaSC.com.

Big things cooking in the dining scene

The opening of Chick ’N Boba represents an exciting development for food aficionados in Beaufort and signifies the ever-expanding diversity of the county’s food scene. This fusion eatery promises to deliver a delectable array of Asian delicacies, redefining fast-casual dining holistically.
