Beaufort, the charming city known for its stunning landscapes and friendly faces, has just welcomed a new addition to its healthcare family that promises to make a significant impact. Beaufort Memorial Heart Specialists has expanded their team with the arrival of a highly skilled and compassionate cardiologist, Dr. Francis O’Neill.
Dr. O’Neill is not just any cardiologist; he’s a board-certified physician specialized in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, and Interventional Cardiology. His extensive background includes more than 1,000 coronary procedures performed, especially in the realm of percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). He’s all set to hit the ground running in Beaufort, where he’ll be diagnosing and treating various cardiovascular conditions alongside the existing board-certified team.
Working out of both the Beaufort and Okatie offices, Dr. O’Neill will also perform procedures in the brand-new cath lab at Beaufort Memorial Hospital’s main campus. Talk about convenience for the Lowcountry residents!
Russell Baxley, the President and CEO of Beaufort Memorial, couldn’t be more thrilled about Dr. O’Neill joining the team. He stated in a recent release, “Dr. O’Neill will be a fantastic addition to our team of skilled cardiologists.” With his compassionate and patient-focused approach to cardiac care, he aims to bring a wealth of experience to the Lowcountry community.
Before making Beaufort his new home, Dr. O’Neill served as the Director of Cardiac Catheterization and Cardiac Critical Care at Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, New York. With privileges at numerous hospitals, his impressive resume speaks for itself. The rigorous training he received in coronary interventions at Morristown Memorial Hospital prepared him for the challenges he now faces.
So, how did Dr. O’Neill find his passion for cardiology? “Once you find something you’ve got a knack for, you tend to fall in love with it, too,” he shares. His journey through over a decade of training gave him a unique perspective and skill set that will greatly benefit his patients.
Growing up on a dairy farm in upstate New York, Dr. O’Neill is no stranger to small-town life. He and his wife, Rita, chose Beaufort because they want their children to experience the warmth and community spirit found in smaller communities. Connection is at the heart of his care philosophy. “I look at each of my patients as a whole person and treat them like I would treat my family,” he explains, emphasizing that patient care should be a positive conversation rather than a mere transaction.
For those in and around Beaufort looking for heart care, the Beaufort Memorial Heart Specialists is located at 300 Midtown Drive and in Okatie at 122 Okatie Center Blvd. North, Suite 300. Dr. O’Neill and the rest of the dedicated team are ready to help you with your heart health. Want to schedule an appointment? It’s as easy as dialing 843-770-4550.
With expert hands like Dr. O’Neill’s now in the community, residents can look forward to enhanced and compassionate cardiac care. Beaufort is stepping up its game in the healthcare landscape, ensuring that everyone has access to top-notch treatment!
