In a bid to seek public opinion and provide updated information on the Riverport project, the City of Hardeeville will host a public meeting on July 11. Topics to be discussed during the meeting include the proposed Riverport development project as well as plans for creating the new Exit 3 on Interstate 95 in Jasper County.
The proposed Riverport project, encompassing a whopping 4,260 acres, is slated to meet a range of commercial, industrial, and residential needs. Furthermore, the project has the potential to bring in the new Exit 3 to Interstate 95, vastly ameliorating the traffic flow in and around the region.
The current juncture of Interstate 95 in Jasper County has been facing growing congestion. The addition of the new exit interchange is likely to mitigate this traffic pressure on Exit 5, providing a much-needed alternative hurricane evacuation route. The new route is expected to boost safety measures and arrangements during hurricane seasons.
The meeting will take place at the Hardeeville Library Community room from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Among those attending the meeting will be the City of Hardeeville leaders, as well as local, state, and federal elected leaders, Riverport developers, and governmental permitting agencies.
Adopting a “drop-in style” format, the meeting will exhibit project displays, comment forms and information handouts. Attendees will have the chance to discuss the project with representatives from varying government agencies and the project developers themselves. This public interaction is a step forward in ensuring that the community is involved in the city’s major projects and decisions.
Citizens unable to attend the meeting need not worry about missing the chance to voice their comments or concerns. The option to submit comments online at www.riverportexit3.com or via email at comments@riverportexit3.com is open from July 11 through August 10, 2024. Additional information from the developers related to the proposed Riverport project can be accessed on www.jobsforjaspercounty.com.
This public meeting presents a wonderful chance for Hardeeville residents and taxpayers to actively participate and engage with governmental officials and policy makers. Be a part of these ambitious plans and pave the way for a brighter and stronger Hardeeville.
