Goodbye Dos Amigos, Hello New Dining Experience in Beaufort!

Goodbye Dos Amigos, Hello New Dining Experience in Beaufort!

Residents of Beaufort, get ready for a dining shakeup! The well-loved Dos Amigos Mexican Grill & Tequila Bar is set to close its doors for good on December 31, 2024. But don’t be too sad, because something exciting is just around the corner! Local restaurateur Pedro Solorio has big plans that will surely spice things up in the area.

A Fresh Start

Located in the Beaufort Town Center, Dos Amigos has been a favorite since it opened in August 2018. Solorio, who is also the mastermind behind several other Mexican dining spots like Rancho Grande and Pedro’s Tacos, believes it’s time for a change. He has already locked down a new location at 2317 Boundary Street, the former home of Jade Garden Chinese Cuisine.

What’s in Store?

So, what can Beaufort locals expect from this new venture? While the name is still under wraps — with Solorio contemplating between three options and avoiding overused terms like “agave” or “tequila” — he promises a vibrant, welcoming atmosphere. He aims to capture an elevated Miami-style cantina vibe.

“Everybody can come in, even the guys that work in construction,” Solorio shared. “You don’t have to be fully dressed up. I’m trying to make it very welcoming.”

A Flavor Explosion

With the new restaurant, patrons can anticipate an array of upscale Mexican cuisine paired with creative cocktails in a lively setting. Think of bright colors, fantastic decor, and flavors that could make your taste buds dance! The grand opening date is estimated to be in the spring of 2025, so mark your calendars for a delicious adventure that’s just around the corner!

More to Come!

But that’s not all! Solorio has even bigger plans for the Beaufort food scene. Aside from the new cantina, he’s also working on opening a second Rancho Grande location to satisfy your cravings for tasty Mexican favorites. This popular eatery has built a reputation for merging traditional Mexican recipes with local ingredients to serve up dishes that locals can’t resist, such as tacos, fajitas, nachos, and quesadillas. Handcrafted margaritas and specialty cocktails make the dining experience even more delightful!

While he’s still keeping the exact location of this new Rancho Grande close to his chest, he’s hopeful to unveil it in the summer or fall of 2025. Solorio is currently weighing two potential sites, giving him the chance to choose the perfect spot for his next culinary venture.

The Buzz is Real!

With all these developments, it’s safe to say that there’s a lot of excitement brewing in Beaufort. From closing one beloved restaurant to opening another vibrant dining experience, Pedro Solorio is clearly ready to shake things up. While we bid farewell to Dos Amigos by the end of 2024, the anticipation for Solorio’s new venture and the second location of Rancho Grande is keeping spirits high.

So, mark your calendars and get ready to enjoy the energetic atmosphere and mouthwatering flavors of Solorio’s new cantina. It looks like Beaufort’s dining scene is about to get a whole lot tastier!
