Free Naloxone and Training to be Offered at Beaufort County Alcohol and Drug Abuse Department Locations in Bluffton and Beaufort

Beaufort, SC- The Beaufort County Alcohol and Drug Abuse Department will be providing free Naloxone training sessions on May 1, 2024. The event will be held at their locations in Bluffton and Beaufort from 9 am to 4 pm.

Objective of the Training

The key aim of this initiative is to contribute towards opioid poisoning awareness. Participants will enrich their understanding of how to identify the signs of opioid poisoning and extend assistance to those exposed to opioid toxification or illicit contamination. The event will be open to anyone interested, and appointment scheduling prior to the event will not be necessary.

Location and Timing

The locations are as follows: The Bluffton location can be found at 4818 Bluffton Parkway, while the Beaufort center exists at 1905 Duke Street. These training sessions are structured to be brief yet comprehensive, requiring only five minutes of the attendees’ time. Attendees may drop in at any time between 9 am and 4 pm, in accordance with their convenience.

Attendees to Receive Free Supplies Of Naloxone

In addition to the informative training, all participants will receive free supplies of Naloxone. Naloxone is the medication used to reverse opioid overdose. This move is a part of a broader proactive measure to combat the rise in opioid-related deaths and incidents.
