Beaufort, South Carolina is buzzing with excitement as the new Beaufort Station Shopping Center opens its doors to eager shoppers! Some of the highly anticipated stores, including PetSmart, TJ Maxx, and Home Goods, are already welcoming customers, but many locals are curious about the dining options that the center will soon offer.
First on the list is Chicken Salad Chick, which opened its doors to hungry patrons on October 15th. Known for its diverse range of chicken salads, this eatery is a great addition for those looking for a quick and delicious meal.
But that’s not all! Many community members have been eagerly awaiting the opening of Surcheros Fresh Mex, a well-loved Tex-Mex chain that originally announced it would be opening on November 19th. However, the restaurant’s opening has recently faced some bumps in the road.
As of October 29th, Surcheros’ marketing representatives informed us that the opening has been delayed until sometime in 2025 due to construction setbacks. While this news may be disappointing, it does set the stage for something truly special once the doors finally swing open.
When Surcheros does finally arrive in Beaufort, it will mark the chain’s very first location in South Carolina! Already boasting over 30 outlets primarily in Georgia and Florida, Surcheros is well-known for their fresh, Mexican-inspired cuisine. From customizable burritos and delicious bowls to tacos, nachos, quesadillas, and salads, there’s bound to be something for everyone to love!
Not just resting on their laurels, the company has big plans ahead, announcing an ambitious goal of opening 100 restaurants across the country in the next five years. They expect to have 15 to 20 new locations up and running by the end of 2025.
As the construction progresses, Beaufort Station is already becoming a hub for shopping and dining. The 209,250 square foot shopping center is strategically located at the corner of Robert Smalls Parkway and Paris Island Gateway and includes a mix of new businesses as well as a few that have relocated to take advantage of the fresh space.
In addition to Chicken Salad Chick and the future Surcheros, locals can look forward to visiting popular retailers such as Hobby Lobby, Ulta Beauty, Old Navy, and Rack Room Shoes. Other upcoming tenants include Panda Express, Mattress Warehouse, Le Nails, America’s Best, a Parker’s Kitchen, and a Parker’s Car Wash.
The developers behind this vibrant project, The Morgan Companies, have shared their excitement about the new center, highlighting Beaufort as a beautiful community that is growing yet remains underserved in retail options. According to Jeff Surrency, executive vice president of development, the center aims to attract high-quality tenants to serve both current and future residents.
“This is not only a testament to great real estate but a growing, vibrant community as well,” said Trey Morgan, President of The Morgan Companies.
Although we may have to wait for Surcheros and Panda Express to join the lineup, the buzz surrounding the Beaufort Station Shopping Center is palpable. As shoppers revel in the new stores and dining options, the anticipation for even more offerings continues to grow. For now, we can enjoy Chicken Salad Chick and look ahead as Beaufort continues to blossom!
