Hey there, Savannah! If you thought October was just about Halloween prep, think again! Our lovely city is buzzing with fantastic events that not only bring people together but also give back to our community. Let’s dive into some of the highlights from the past week!
On October 15, the friendly folks at Simply Savannah Marketing teamed up with the Savannah Master Calendar for their monthly Sips at the Station networking event. The event was a blast, benefiting the United Way. Locals gathered to enjoy some delightful drinks while mingling with friends and making new connections. It’s a fantastic way to unwind and support a great cause at the same time!
If you missed the second annual Twilight Ball hosted by SAFE Shelter on October 11, you certainly missed a night to remember! Held at the beautiful Thompson Hotel, this year’s event dazzled attendees with elegant decor, lively music, and an atmosphere brimming with kindness. It was a wonderful opportunity to rally support for the shelter, which plays a crucial role in providing safety and resources for those in need. Everyone left feeling inspired and uplifted, which is truly the essence of community spirit!
On another uplifting note, Mary’s Place hosted its Second Annual Resource Fair, an event dedicated to advocating for and delivering vital resources to the Hispanic community. This fair was an important opportunity for many families to learn about available services, from healthcare to education and beyond. The enthusiasm from attendees was palpable, as volunteers spread their knowledge and help to those who need it most. It was heartwarming to see our neighborhoods come together to support one another.
Even outside of formal events, Savannah has a way of pulling the community together. This month has seen the Habitat for Humanity Block Party and the grand opening of Fluid Aesthetics and Wellness, where locals came to celebrate and support new businesses in the area. Isn’t it great to see our local entrepreneurs step up and contribute to our vibrant community?
Looking ahead, be sure to check out An Intimate Evening of Song & Stories with Clay Ross at the May River Chapel in Palmetto Bluff on October 18 from 6:30-9 p.m. It promises to be a delightful way to wind down your week with heartfelt melodies and engaging storytelling.
Additionally, if you love food, prepare yourself for a treat! The Coastal Southern standard restaurant is settling into their delightful Sunday brunch service, which has everyone eager for delicious bites and cozy atmospheres. Plus, if that wasn’t enough, Savannah Tech is gearing up to open its new Culinary Institute restaurant, adding even more flavor to our historic Bay Street area.
And last but certainly not least, the annual Fall Festival hosted by Connect Savannah is just around the corner. It’s going to be an exciting celebration filled with fun activities, making it the perfect outing for families and friends to enjoy the season.
All in all, it seems Savannah is the place to be this October, buzzing with life, laughter, and love for the community. Make sure to check out some of these great gatherings and contribute to our vibrant community spirit!
