In a beautiful display of community spirit, Enmarket, a convenience store chain based in Savannah, Georgia, recently announced a generous donation of $28,277.29 to nine United Way organizations across three states. This kind-hearted initiative took place on September 3rd and aims to support various essential services in the local communities where Enmarket operates.
The funds were gathered primarily through an in-store round-up campaign, where customers had the opportunity to round up their purchases, with the extra change going directly to United Way. Customer engagement played a pivotal role in this effort, with 110 locations participating in the fundraising drive. Matt Clements, President of Enmarket, expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support from customers, saying, “We are proud that 110 locations participated in this fundraising drive, where customers had the option to round up their purchase, with the change going to United Way.”
Additionally, the final $5,000 of the total donation came straight from Enmarket’s company headquarters, showcasing the commitment of the organization to make a positive impact in their communities.
United Way is a volunteer-driven organization that brings together community leaders, professionals, and volunteers to ensure that donations are utilized wisely. These contributions are directed toward projects and services that truly make a difference in the community. The funds donated by Enmarket will be utilized at the discretion of the United Way organizations receiving them, giving them the flexibility to address urgent needs in their respective areas.
The organizations benefitting from this generous contribution include the United Way of the Lowcountry in Beaufort, the Greater Valdosta United Way, Trident United Way in North Charleston, United Way of Asheville and Buncombe County, United Way of Central Georgia, United Way of Coastal Georgia, United Way of South Central Georgia, United Way of Southeast Georgia, and the United Way of the Coastal Empire in Savannah.
These organizations were thrilled with the impact that Enmarket’s donation will have. Kimberly Waller, President and CEO of the United Way of the Coastal Empire, remarked, “Enmarket’s support is a testament to the power of community collaboration. These funds will greatly enhance our ability to provide essential services to those in need, and we are incredibly grateful for their generosity.” This sentiment highlights the vital relationship between local businesses and non-profit organizations, paving the way for a brighter future for many individuals and families.
Enmarket’s commitment to supporting United Way is part of a broader tradition under the Colonial Group, its parent company. Colonial Group, Inc., known for its diverse offerings in energy and chemical marketing and distribution as well as retail convenience stores, has a long-standing relationship with United Way, evident through employee contributions that the company generously matches. Founded in 1921, Colonial Group remains a family-owned business that continues to prioritize community welfare.
With over 1,300 employees and 132 convenience store locations throughout Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina, Enmarket is making waves not just in the convenience store industry but also in community support. Their initiatives do not end here; we can only hope for continued contributions in the future that will help strengthen community bonds and support those in need.
This recent donation serves as a reminder that we all play a part in our community, and with just a little change, we can help make a big difference.
