Savannah, Ga. — As the 2024 election season heats up, early voting numbers are rolling in, showcasing some impressive turnout across several counties. It seems that citizens in the region are more determined than ever to have their voices heard.

Bulloch County Reports Strong Participation

To kick things off, let’s talk about Bulloch County. As of Monday, October 21, officials reported that over 7,174 total votes had already been cast. Of this number, a significant 6,584 were made in person, adding a vibrant energy to local polling places. The remaining 590 votes were submitted by mail, reflecting a mix of traditional voting and more contemporary methods.

Excitingly, officials are optimistic! They believe the county could see a voter turnout exceeding 70% by the time all votes are counted. Just to put things into perspective, during the last election, Bulloch County recorded 14,408 votes by the November 3 deadline. So far, they’re on track, and it’ll be interesting to see if they meet or exceed those numbers this year!

Effingham County on the Rise

Moving over to Effingham County, they are also showing impressive figures with 8,495 total votes cast so far. This number is particularly striking as a whopping 8,439 votes were cast in person, with the remaining 506 being mail-in ballots. The county’s Board of Elections is hopeful and is projecting a voter turnout between 75% to 77% for this election.

For context, during the last election cycle, Effingham County saw a total of 17,299 votes by the November 3 deadline. With nearly half the election period still ahead of them, it’s clear that community participation is alive and well!

Bryan County Keeps Up the Momentum
