He was proud to call Kaylan Jones and her husband Jason, as well as Thomas Phillips and his wife Emily, his own. The strong familial bonds crafted by David were a cornerstone of his life.
Early Life and Education
Born in Syosset, NY, David was raised by his parents, Evelyn and Richard (Dick) Phillips, alongside his siblings Christopher, Leslie, Stacy, and Michael. In 1971, the family made the move to Westford, MA, where young David thrived as a student at Westford Academy. His academic journey culminated with a degree in Architecture from the renowned University of Miami in 1978, an achievement that would set the stage for a vibrant career.
A Flourishing Architectural Career
Following his graduation, David spent several years working for remodeling and renovation firms in the Miami area before returning to Massachusetts in the 1980s. His architectural talent flourished as he took on various roles at prominent design companies. Most notably, he dedicated nearly 15 years as an Architect and Estimator at Construction Management and Development Corporation in Wellesley.
In a bold move, David established his own design and consultation services for residential and commercial projects from his home in Sudbury between 2009 and 2014. He ultimately lent his expertise to Fallon Custom Homes until retiring in 2019. Throughout his career, his impressive artistic abilities and great taste earned him several accolades, including the prestigious “Best of Houzz” award for five consecutive years between 2012 and 2017.
