Bluffton, Saturday, August 10th, 2024: The Technical College of the Lowcountry is all set to host a second Enrollment Expo for prospective students interested in culinary arts. This comes after the premiere event saw a tremendous response and anticipation for the launch of its new Culinary Institute of the South. The Expo is scheduled to take place on Thursday, September 16 at the New River Campus in Bluffton.
Attendees will receive comprehensive information on scholarships, financial aid, and application assistance, with faculty and staff ready to answer any questions about the institution and its programs. The event will also give individuals a firsthand look at the new campus, which is currently under construction at Buckwalter Place in Bluffton.
While a grand opening for the Institute is planned for November, eager students will already commence their courses at the new campus in October. The Expo will be hosted from 4 to 6 p.m. on September 16 at the New River Campus, 100 Community Drive, in Bluffton. For additional details or to RSVP, visit the official website.
The Culinary Institute of the South at Technical College of the Lowcountry is a 29,000 square-foot learning facility featuring six academic classrooms, two teaching kitchens, two baking labs, a lecture theater, and a teaching restaurant. An interactive museum named the FOODseum, set to share the narrative of Southern food, is slated to open on the campus in 2022.
Prospective students can choose to specialize in Baking & Pastry, Culinary, and Hospitality and have the option of earning an associate’s degree or certificate in these areas.
This investment in culinary education aims to complement the region’s rich food culture while equipping the future workforce with an unparalleled understanding of the culinary arts. For more information, interested parties can visit the official website.
