Bluffton Voters Choose Local Business Owner Burden for Town Council

Bluffton business owner and Bluffton native Emily Vaux Burden emerged victorious in the recent special election held on February 13, securing the last open seat on the Town Council. Burden, the owner of the popular Bluffton boutique Gigi’s, garnered a total of 1,902 votes, defeating her opponent Emily Mayer, who received 679 votes.

Focus on Controlling Growth

During her campaign for the Town Council seat, Burden emphasized her commitment to managing Bluffton’s rapid growth while prioritizing the preservation of the town’s quality of life. Successor to Mayor Larry Toomer
